Pure Power Mouthguard

The PPM is designed for all sports enthusiasts ranging from the professional athlete to the dedicated amateur. There are different models for different sports. Contact sports use a PPM that fits on the upper teeth and non-contact sports use a PPM that fits on the lower teeth.

Neuromuscular dentistry focuses on the physical connection between the range of motion of these muscles and joints, and your body posture.

Dr. Haddad will determines the best possible jaw position through computerized tracking of your jaw. A TENS ( Transcutaneous Electro-Neural Stimulation ) machine is used to help relax your muscles, putting them in their most comfortable position. When your facial muscles are in this position, your PPM is fitted, thus returning your muscles to this relaxed position when the mouthguard is worn. When your jaw is in its optimal position, as it is when wearing your specifically-made PPM, the muscles are no longer stressed, thus giving you the best bite along with the added benefits of improved balance, and increased upper-body strength.

Pure Power Mouthguard is only available through a PPM certified dentist such as Dr. Ramzi Haddad.

The first thing we need is to book a consultation appointment to see if you are a candidate for a PPM. The appointment is approximately 20 minutes and is no charge to you. Once we ensure you are a good candidate the next appointment will be booked for 90 minutes at which time we TENS you for about 45 minutes and take impressions of your teeth.

What is TENS?
In order to get the optimum jaw position, we need to relax the muscles in the face and head. The TENS machine does this with a mild electrical stimulation. Once the muscles are relaxed we are able to find that optimum position. This process is safe and painless as it feels like a pulsing sensation on the face and neck.

It will take approximately 2 weeks for the lab to fabricate your Pure Power Mouthguard and the appointment for delivery takes approximately 20 minutes.
