Wisdom teeth, also called the third molars, are the last permanent teeth to develop and erupt. Many people’s jaws are too small for these teeth to grow in properly. Most people have four wisdom teeth, one in each corner of the mouth while some people naturally lack one or more of them. They often become impacted (unable to erupt) and need to be removed. Due to being so far back in the mouth it is very hard to keep them clean when brushing and flossing, causing them to be very susceptible to gum disease and decay.
Wisdom teeth can cause acute (sudden) problems, chronic (ongoing) problems or no problems at all. We are able to offer you different sedation options which provides you with a relaxed and stress free appointment.
